A mooring buoy has been designed and constructed and deployed in the deep ocean. Self-weight and environmental loads such as wave, wind and current have been considered for arriving at the mooring requirements. Mooring analysis has been undertaken using Orca flex software to simulate the effect of the various loads on the mooring buoy and to arrive at the strength and number of mooring points (anchor legs) including the anchor weights. The production drawings have been supplied for the yard to undertake the construction post approval for construction by Class. QAPs were prepared for the yard to follow the test protocols and procedures for ensuring quality of the Mooring buoy.
